Sher-Wood Rekker EK60 Hockey Stick Review

Sher-Woods revitalized stick lineup is committed to bringing the very best technology without sacrificing performance. The newest member of the Rekker family, the EK60, has its sights set on being that hot stick that players gravitate toward to on the stick rack. Now this stick is packed full of new technology unheard of in sticks before it, so let’s go along for the ride and take an in-depth look.

Sher-Wood makes use of their Ekore Technology manufacturing process to bring you the best quality and attention to detail possible. The carbon fiber Sher-Woods used in the EK60 is 30% lighter than competition and their claims are spot on with the stick weighing in at 385 grams. Being the lightest stick on the market, the EK60 makes sure you are able to fire off shots in the instant the puck lands on your blade.

We haven’t had one break on us, but their manufacturing process is all handmade eliminating any surplus materials and defects that could result during a machine-use manufacturing process. Though the process is eight times longer than the typical mechanized method, Ekore provides a more consistent flex throughout the shaft, resulting in improved accuracy and increased power.

Blade

As with the rest of the stick, there is no shortage of tech packed into the blade. On the EK60, Sher-Wood used their VRF.2 Blade that offers the most responsive and a vibration-free design. Within the blade Sher-Wood’s carbon fiber bridge adds strength and durability as well as a low torsion design for increased puck control.

Shaft

Unlike other sticks on the market, the EK60 makes use of Graphene – a nano-technology that is 200 times stronger than steel. Sher-Wood has infused the shaft with this material in high breakage areas. Not only is Graphene extremely light, but its strength is more resistant to slashes than traditional materials.

In your head you might be thinking, “If it’s that strong so it must be extremely stiff”, well you’d be incorrect in assuming that. The stick combines strength, light weight, and flexibility for better response during shooting. Graphene is also used in electronics, engineering, vehicle design, making the EK60 the ultimate tech stick

Sher-wood has really upped their game with the new Rekker, showing the competition that they should fear the EK60 and future products. With new technology, an increase in performance is seen throughout the lineup and it looks like Sher-Wood has hip-checked their opponents with the updated Rekker lineup. The new Sher-Wood EK60 has hit the mark with their design, performance, and overall attention to detail.

We have plenty in store so don’t hesitate to come in and check out how light they are they!
